Bungalow Ty Cwtch: A New Standard in Inclusive and Accessible Short-Term Stays in Cardiff

Bungalow Ty Cwtch, a newly refurbished short-term rental in Cardiff, is setting a new benchmark for inclusivity and accessibility in the hospitality sector. Designed with the needs of all travellers in mind—including individuals with disabilities, LGBTQ+ individuals, contractors, and business professionals – Bungalow Ty Cwtch is a stylish and welcoming space where everyone can feel at home.

A Home Designed for All

Located on Cambridge Street, CF11 7DJ, Bungalow Ty Cwtch is more than just a place to stay; it’s a deeply personal project. Co-founders Daniel Morgan-Williams, who is registered blind, and Jamie Morgan-Williams, who lives with fibromyalgia, have used their lived experiences to create a space that is both functional and homely.

We believe that if we design for the minority, it will also work for the majority,” says Daniel. “Our goal is to create a space where everyone feels at home, whether you’re travelling for business, leisure, or any other reason.”

He adds, “As someone who is registered blind, I know firsthand how difficult it can be to find accommodation that truly meets your needs. Many places describe themselves as accessible, but often only consider wheelchair access. That’s incredibly important, of course—but features like additional lighting, colour contrast, and dimmable lights can make a huge difference for people with visual impairments.”

“There’s minimal accessible accommodation in Wales, especially in the self-catering sector,” Daniel continues. “We’re not saying we’re fully accessible—we know we still have a way to go. But accessibility is about learning. It’s about listening to your guests, asking what they need, and being open to change. This is the beginning of a big journey for us. We want to make Bungalow Ty Cwtch as inclusive as possible for everyone.”

As a married gay couple, Daniel and Jamie are also passionate about ensuring LGBTQ+ guests feel genuinely welcome. “We know how it feels to wonder if a space will be accepting of who you are,” says Jamie. “We want our guests to feel safe, comfortable, and celebrated for exactly who they are—from the moment they walk through the door.”

Thoughtful Design Features

Bungalow Ty Cwtch includes a range of features to support comfort, ease, and independence for all guests:
• Smart Lock System: Guests can enter independently using a secure code.
• Walk-in Shower with Grab Rails: Offers safety and ease of use.
• Dimmable Lighting: Helps guests customise their space, ideal for sensory sensitivities or visual impairments.
• Colour-Contrasted Interiors: Earthy tones and high-contrast elements enhance spatial awareness and create a calming ambiance.
• Remote-Controlled Electronic Sofa Bed: Easy to use and designed with accessibility in mind.

A Prime Location in Cardiff

Just a short walk from Cardiff Central Station, the Principality Stadium, Cardiff Castle, and the city centre, Bungalow Ty Cwtch is ideal for both business and leisure travellers. Free on-street parking is available directly opposite the property, offering a convenient and hassle-free stay.

Shaping the Future of Inclusive Tourism

Bungalow Ty Cwtch also aligns with Daniel and Jamie’s broader social goals to build a more inclusive world through thoughtful hospitality.
Looking ahead, they hope this is only the beginning. “Our vision is to see more properties across Wales—and beyond—that genuinely consider the diverse needs of their guests,” they say. We aim to spark a broader movement in accessible tourism and self-catering accommodation. Bungalow Ty Cwtch is our first step toward that goal.”
